Meet Chef Israel. As Chef Israel writes....."The art of cooking - or rather, the culinary craft - is in my DNA; it goes back to watching my Dad work as a Chef and seeing him prepare meals for me when I was a child. That path led me to start working in a kosher kitchen in 1998 - Majestic Catering, run by the Cohen Family, who are highly prestigious in the industry.
I spent 11 years working there, catering weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, and other celebrations within this beautiful culture. In 2011, I took an opportunity at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, where I worked for several years cooking for large-scale events - ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 people - as well as weddings, quinceaneras, and all kinds of anniversaries.
From there, I spent a few years working at a place called the 94th Aero Squadron - a venue with alot of history at Van Nuys Airport - where I worked as sous-chef. I returned to Calamigos Ranch to serve as Head Chef, managing M Cafe Malibu; I achieved great success in making the venue a favorite among customers and earning a 4.5 rating on Yelp. With a clear vision and after many wonderful experiences, I decided to take a leap of faith and launch my own project; in October of 2020, I started El Tacote". Woo-Hoo!!
